We’re looking for someone to lead the technical development of our consumer-facing Android app and tablet devices.
The core Yumpingo product is a bespoke Android tablet we own and manage, running only our Yumpingo app. Using this, diners complete a 1-minute review, focused on their food, at the end of the meal when they receive their bill. We have a fleet of devices being used by consumers right now in some of the most well known branded restaurants in London, including Jamie’s Italian and Wahaca.
Our current product is stable and collects diner reviews at high volume, but really we’ve just scratched the surface. You will help us improve the app with the goal of soliciting reviews from as many diners as possible in new, fun and engaging ways that make them want to part the next time too. As we own our devices, the app only needs to support a small number of models running Android 7 and 6. This means you will not be bogged down by having to support a wide variety of screen sizes and Android versions.
Our goal is to manage a fleet of 100,000 devices by the end of next year. To make that happen you’ll be developing our nascent device fleet management system, enabling us to control our devices remotely. Beyond that, you’ll be actively involved in device procurement decisions and in the design of bespoke, Yumpingo-branded hardware. We have a roadmap of innovative new app features that we are ready to embark on that you would lead. Finally, beyond our core product, our strategy includes integrations with a number of third party apps and services, and a publicly available app for diners own devices.
